MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The director of the women’s bureau at the U.S. Department of Labor is speaking at the Vermont Women’s Economic Security Summit in Montpelier.
Latifa Lynes is the keynote speaker at the daylong event at the State House on Thursday.
The free summit includes panel discussions with policy leaders and Vermont experts on getting women to work and keeping women at work.
Legislators, community leaders and advocates are expected to discuss policies related to employment and wages, early care and education, paid family and medical leave and access to health care.
The conference is being presented by the Vermont Commission on Women and the Vermont Women’s Legislative Caucus.
