MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A West Tennessee woman has been indicted in the deaths of two 11-year-old boys who were hit by her vehicle after it jumped a curb.

Shelby County District Attorney Amy Weirich’s office said in a news release that 27-year-old Sparkel Hastings of Memphis was indicted Thursday on two counts of vehicular homicide and other charges stemming from the crash in January.

The release said Joshua McDowell and Darryl Howard were walking along a road when they were hit by Hasting’s vehicle after it crossed the oncoming traffic lane and jumped the curb. Investigators said the vehicle then hit a fence and a utility pole and turned over.

Hastings was also indicted on charges of aggravated assault involving a passenger and driving on a suspended license. She is being held on $350,000 bond.
