CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - West Virginia Lottery Director John Musgrave is retiring after serving for more than 19 years.

Musgrave announced on Thursday that his retirement is effective Oct. 31.

He also serves as deputy secretary of revenue.

Musgrave has served under four governors since he was first appointed to the Lottery position in April 1997. He was appointed deputy secretary of revenue in 2013. He previously served two stints as acting secretary of revenue.

During Musgrave’s tenure, the Lottery has added video lottery, limited video lottery and table games.
