BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a Bismarck man accused of shooting an acquaintance in the chest during a dispute over money.

The Bismarck Police Department says authorities are looking for 39-year-old Cheston Pendleton, who is charged with attempted murder.

Police met the victim at the hospital. Initially, the 36-year-old Bismarck man said he was robbed by several men.

During the investigation, police discovered that the victim and Pendleton were acquainted. Police say Pendleton shot the victim and then fled the scene after the monetary disagreement.

Court records don’t list an attorney for Pendleton. He didn’t answer a telephone call to an affiliated number.
