NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - Authorities are investigating after finding a man’s body in a Nampa canal.

The body was reported by a passerby who noticed it in the water behind a health clinic. The body has not yet been identified, but police say it appears to be that of a male in his early-20s.

Investigators are not sure how long the body was in the water before it was found. The canal is estimated to be between 3 and 5 feet deep.

An autopsy has been performed, but police say the cause of death is still undetermined.
