PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is replacing the head of the state’s tax collection agency after keeping him in office for the first 9 months of his term.

Ducey’s office on Friday announced that David Raber would be replaced as director of the Department of Revenue by David Briant.

Briant has been working at the Department of Environmental Quality since 1999, most recently as director of business and finance. Current deputy state treasurer Carlton Woodruff was named as Briant’s deputy.

Ducey spokesman Daniel Scarpinato would not explain why governor changed leadership at the tax collection agency.

Rader was appointed to the post by former Gov. Jan Brewer in February 2014 and retained by Ducey. He’s worked in various state agency jobs for more than 20 years.
