EASTON, Conn. (AP) - A husband and wife missing for two months face eviction for nonpayment of rent.

The Connecticut Post reports (https://bit.ly/1FX644A ) that Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin are the focus of a case in state housing court. Patricia Barrett and Rob Hennessey, owners of the Easton home where the Navins lived before their disappearance in August, want their possessions removed.

Barrett and Hennessey asked a Superior Court judge Thursday for permission to enter the house and change the locks.

State police are searching the property for the missing couple’s remains.

The 56-year-old Jeffrey Navin and 55-year-old Jeanette Navin have not been seen since Aug. 4. Their pickup truck was found with a shattered window Aug. 9 in a commuter lot in Westport.

Their son is detained after pleading not guilty to a federal gun charge.
