LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Los Angeles city councilman is warning nightclubs in Hollywood that city building inspectors will be cracking down on violations such as underage patrons, over-capacity dance floors and over-serving intoxicated customers.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1ZkD79d ) that Councilman Mitch O’Farrell said Thursday at a news conference on the Hollywood Walk of Frame that building inspectors would cite any nightclub owner found to be in violation of their operating permits.

One popular nightclub is already facing 18 permit violations since July.

Los Angeles Police Department officials say Halloween is expected to bring extra debauchery to Hollywood, with an additional 300 officers patrolling the area. They say a significant portion of violent crime in Hollywood can be attributed to drunkenness.
