COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - A retired Ohio firefighter and his son have been sentenced to prison for robbing three pharmacies to get prescription pills.

The Columbus Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1GzGIEE ) a Franklin County judge on Thursday sentenced 50-year-old Jeffrey Young, of Westerville, to four years in prison. His son, 22-year-old Aaron Young, received an eight-year sentence.

Both pleaded guilty last month to three counts of robbery and one count of gun specification. Authorities said the father and son robbed a Kroger pharmacy outside Columbus in February, and two others in March.

Jeffrey Young apologized in court, telling the judge he became addicted to pain pills after suffering knee and shoulder injuries at work.
