RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Reno man has been found guilty of battery on a police officer for spitting in the officer’s face after he was arrested.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://on.rgj.com/1LlTiNg ) that 51-year-old Emil Anthony was found guilty on Tuesday of the gross misdemeanor charge.

Anthony is accused of spitting on an officer on July 9 when police responded to a domestic disturbance call. When officer’s tried to place Anthony in a police car on investigation of domestic battery, he spit in the officer’s face.

The domestic battery charge was dropped.

Anthony faces up to 364 days in jail. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Wednesday.
