MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker’s security detail had more than $125,000 in travel costs in the first half of the year as the Republican traveled extensively as a presidential hopeful.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (https://bit.ly/1P4CoFv ) the total from records released to media organizations in response to an open records request. Groups connected to Walker have repaid about $58,000 and have said they will reimburse taxpayers for the remaining roughly $67,000, the newspaper said.

Walker abandoned his presidential bid last month. But he promised early last year to cover travel costs for his security detail.

Our American Revival, the political committee Walker formed last year, is repaying the costs.
