TWINSBURG, Ohio (AP) - Two people have been killed and one person wounded in a police-involved shooting in northeast Ohio that forced a nearby college to go into lockdown.

Police say they responded Tuesday evening to an active domestic situation in a residential neighborhood in Twinsburg, about 25 miles southeast of Cleveland.

Police say when officers arrived they “engaged an armed suspect.” The alleged shooter was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were taken to area hospitals, where one was pronounced dead. The condition of the second victim wasn’t immediately available. No police officers were injured.

The shooting prompted a lockdown at nearby Kent State Regional Academic Center. The school later reopened, but officials canceled all evening classes.

Police continue to investigate.
