HIGHLAND, Calif. (AP) - A judge has ordered two men to stand trial in the shooting death of a 4-year-old California boy who was playing in his grandmother’s yard.

Darron Daniels and Maurice Kelley pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges last month in San Bernardino County.

Authorities say they were gunning for two other people in a car when Daniel Munoz was struck July 29 in Highland.

The boy was playing with a stuffed bear he called Superman when he was shot.

His aunt said the boy fell face down when he was struck. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The Riverside Press-Enterprise newspaper (https://bit.ly/1JzAbNP) reported Monday that the defendants were ordered back to court on Sept. 10.
