HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) - Officials say two people suffered minor injuries in a boat fire at Shelter Cove Marina on Hilton Head Island.

The Island Packet of Hilton Head reports (https://bit.ly/1JHVjCT ) the fire happened Monday afternoon.

Fire Marshal Joheida Fister said in a statement that crews found a 41-foot Mainship Mediterranean boat on fire.

Fister says two boats docked on each side also sustained minor damage.

The two people were working on the boat when the fire started. Fister says the workers tried using portable fire extinguishers to stop the blaze, but it grew rapidly.

Authorities say the two unidentified workers were treated at a local hospital and were released.
