BLUEFIELD, W.Va. (AP) - Police say a bank robbery suspect has died in an exchange of gunfire with Bluefield officers.
A post on the West Virginia State Police’s Twitter account says the suspect died on Tuesday after shooting at the officers. No other injuries were reported.
State police say officers were responding to a report of a robbery at First Century Bank when another robbery was reported at First Community Bank.
Bluefield Police Dennis Dillow says in an email to The Associated Press that city officers exchanged gunfire with the suspect following an attempt to rob both banks. He referred further questions to the state police because he was involved in the incident.
Dillow told the Bluefield Daily Telegraph (https://bit.ly/1hRjODm ) earlier Tuesday that man left an unknown device at First Century Bank.
