UPPER BERN, Pa. (AP) - Investigators are trying to determine what sparked a Pennsylvania chicken farm fire in which 70,000 birds were saved.

The fire at A&L; Farms in Upper Bern started Sunday night and caused $1.7 million in damage.

The Morning Call (https://bit.ly/1PIurCP ) reports no chickens were in the building at the time and firefighters kept the flames from spreading to other buildings.

State police are continuing their investigation.
