CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) - A 34-year-old Coralville man accused of knowingly spreading HIV has pleaded not guilty.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports (https://icp-c.com/1JJhVhK ) that Adam Musser entered a written plea in Johnson County Court on Monday. He is charged with five counts of criminal transmission of an infectious disease. Police say Musser had unprotected sex with a woman in May and June and had unprotected sex with another woman in June and July. Police say he told both women that he was disease-free.

Iowa Corrections Department records say Musser was sentenced to a 50-year prison term in 2004 after being convicted of knowingly spreading HIV, but he was released on parole in 2012.
