PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old Los Angeles County man for allegedly abusing his family’s dogs after one animal was discovered with broken legs and the other had injuries to its neck.

Deputies responded around 1 a.m. Monday to a home in Palmdale, where relatives reported Andres Garcia was kicking and brutalizing the family’s four dogs.

Officials say one of the animals “appeared to have” both hind legs broken and several cuts. A second dog was bleeding from its mouth and had neck injuries.

It’s unclear if the other two dogs in the home were injured.

The Los Angeles Times reports (https://lat.ms/1KCHqGP) Garcia was taken into custody on suspicion of animal cruelty and is being held on $20,000 bail.

His arraignment is set for Wednesday.
