AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Maine officials say the language of an upcoming statewide ballot question about campaign finance is now finalized.

The Maine Department of the Secretary of State says the language for the upcoming Question 1 became final on Monday. Residents will vote on the question on Nov. 3.

The question will ask voters if they want to change state law to allow publicly financed state candidates to qualify for additional money under the rules of the Maine Clean Election Act. It also states that approving the question would improve disclosure of who pays for political ads and increase penalties for violations of campaign fiance law.

There will also be two bond questions on the November ballot.
