GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) - A man and a teenager have been arrested in a street racing death in Gilbert five months ago.

Gilbert police say 24-year-old Shaheen Esmaeili and a 16-year-old boy were arrested Monday and booked into jail on suspicion of reckless manslaughter.

The teen’s name is being withheld by The Associated Press because he’s a juvenile.

Esmaleili’s bond was set at $75,000 at his initial court appearance Tuesday. He doesn’t have a lawyer yet.

The teenager and Esmaeili each were driving a car April 5 and 20-year-old Shohab Esmaeili was a passenger in his older brother’s sedan that was struck from behind by the teen’s vehicle going an estimated 70 mph.

Police say the sedan struck a fence and rolled into a floodway and Shohab Esmaeili was declared dead at the scene.
