CRATER LAKE NATIONAL PARK, Ore. (AP) - The entire length of the Pacific Crest Trail within Oregon’s Crater Lake National Park is now open.

Wildfire dangers had closed a section of the trail from the park’s northern boundary to the junction with Lightning Springs Trail.

A park official says cooler, wetter weather over the weekend and successful fire operations along the north entrance road dampened fire activity enough to reopen the popular trail.

Other trails, including the Boundary Springs, Bald Crater Loop and Bert Creek trails, remain closed.
