HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford police are investigating a late night fatal shooting near city hall and a federal court building.

Police received several 911 calls about shots being fired on South Prospect Street just before midnight Monday.

Responding officers found a 32 year-old man on an apartment porch suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. He was pronounced dead at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The victim’s name was not immediately made public.

There was no word on arrests.

The shooting was the city’s 23rd homicide of the year.
