LOS ANGELES (AP) - The hospital system of the University of California, Los Angeles, has notified more than 1,200 patients about the theft of a faculty member’s laptop containing names, medical record numbers and other health information.

UCLA Health said Tuesday there’s no evidence that any individual’s personal or medical information has been accessed.

The computer, which was reported stolen July 3, was password protected. Officials say it contained no Social Security numbers, health plan ID numbers, credit card numbers or other financial data.
