LONG BEACH, Miss. (AP) - Harrison County sheriff’s deputies say a woman’s recent arrests on misdemeanor domestic assault charges have been upgraded to felonies because she’d had repeat convictions before the latest arrests.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1Vt8z29) 56-year-old Tammy Allen Townsend, of Long Beach, was arrested Thursday on two counts of felony domestic assault.

Officials say Townsend had three misdemeanor domestic assault convictions in less than five years when she was arrested recently on two domestic assault charges.

Justice Court Judge Diane Ladner set bonds that total $100,000. Townsend remains in custody.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Townsend.
