FAIRBANKS, Alaska (AP) - Four Alaska State Troopers and one Fairbanks police officer were involved in a deadly exchange of gunfire with two suspects at the end of a car chase that left the driver dead.

Alaska State Troopers on Thursday identified the man killed as 33-year-old Vincent Perdue of Fairbanks.

A trooper attempted to stop Perdue’s car for minor violations. Troopers say he threw objects out the window, and he and a passenger later began shooting. A chase ensued, and ended when Perdue collided with a Fairbanks police cruiser.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (https://is.gd/qkIJJA) the names of the five officials who fired at Perdue will be released in 72 hours, per department policy. The 20-year-old unnamed female passenger was hospitalized.

Troopers also shot and wounded an armed man during a traffic stop Tuesday in Fairbanks.
