CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Fire officials say no one was seriously injured after a fire broke out at Republic Steel’s headquarters in northeast Ohio.

The Repository newspaper in Canton reports (https://bit.ly/1UIl87w ) fire crews were dispatched Wednesday afternoon to a processing building on Georgetown Road to battle the blaze.

Heavy smoke and flames were seen coming from a conveyer belt extending to the Canton facility’s fourth floor.

Acting Battalion Chief Vince Harris says firefighters controlled the blaze within an hour. One employee of the steel manufacturer was hospitalized with a minor shoulder injury.

The plant continued operations Wednesday. Damage from the blaze was estimated to be around $100,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
