AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Charges against a former Austin recording studio owner accused of killing a 38-year-old woman in 1985 have been dropped.

The Austin-American Statesman (https://atxne.ws/1XPewZn ) reports a judge filed an order Wednesday to set aside the indictment against 65-year-old Dennis Davis, citing that Davis had not been given a speedy trial.

According to authorities, Natalie Antonetti was found beaten on the couch of her South Austin apartment in October 1985.

Davis had been found guilty in 2011 and sentenced to 36 years in prison, but that conviction was overturned by a state appeals court that said Davis had not received adequate legal representation.
