PITTSBURGH (AP) - A disbarred attorney who pleaded guilty to distributing crack along with a Pittsburgh gang will spend three years on probation, the first year on house arrest.

Forty-two-year-old Guy Amatangelo, of Upper St. Clair, was charged along with 12 others in January 2014, after he was overheard on federal wiretaps discussing crack cocaine and heroin.

He was sentenced Wednesday by U.S. District Judge David Cercone in Pittsburgh after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute crack and possessing a gun while using drugs.

Federal prosecutors say other members of the ring traveled to Brooklyn, New York, to buy the drugs.

Amatangelo and another man pooled their money to buy some crack and heroin, which the other man used. Amatangelo also said he was willing to trade a pistol for drugs.
