MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - Most people avoid talking about death and funerals, but one New Hampshire funeral director is hosting a weekly radio talk show on the subject.

“Dying to Talk” is making its debut from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday on 107.7 FM. It will be rebroadcast at 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

The 52-week show will be hosted by Budd Phaneuf of the Manchester-based Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium and The Cremation Society of New Hampshire.

Topics will include cremation; veterans funeral and burial benefits; the role of medical examiners; the growth of non-traditional funerals; and others.

Phaneuf said he wants to offer people the opportunity to talk about some things that they might shy away from, or find difficult to discuss, with a touch of humor.
