NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - House speakers from nearly 40 states are in Nashville this week as part of the National Speakers Conference.

The NSC is an affiliate of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation, which seeks to educate and inform the nation’s state legislative leaders on both sides of the aisle.

Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell was selected as president of the National Speakers Conference for 2015, bringing the annual event to Nashville.

Over the four-day conference that started Wednesday, speakers and their chiefs of staff will hear from special guests, hold meetings and participate in discussion panels.
