MONROE, La. (AP) - The Monroe Fire Department has added four new vehicles to its fleet, including its first elevated platform tower truck.

The News-Star reports (https://tnsne.ws/1FzrCi9 ) that fire department officials unveiled the vehicles Wednesday. The ceremony included a public blessing of the new vehicles and a display of the tower truck’s capabilities.

Fire Chief Terry Williams said the elevated platform tower truck is the first of its kind at the Monroe Fire Department. It has a platform that can be used to rescue people from tall structures.
