TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Tuscaloosa police were searching for the suspect in a hit-and-run accident that injured a kindergarten student near a school bus.

Tuscaloosa police Sgt. Brent Blankley said the bus had stopped to allow children to board when a black Honda Accord swerved around it Wednesday morning.

He said the bus’s signals were flashing and a stop sign had been activated.

The Tuscaloosa News reports (https://bit.ly/1ifEWn1) that the 6-year-old girl was treated for injuries at DCH Regional Medical Center.

A Tuscaloosa City Schools spokeswoman said the girl, a kindergartner at Arcadia Elementary School, was back at home Wednesday afternoon.
