CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say a Tampa Bay area teen planted weapons and drugs in a girl’s car while it was parked at Clearwater High School.

Police say 18-year-old James R. Harrison was arrested last week and charged with armed burglary, trespassing on school property with a firearm, possession of marijuana and removal of a firearm serial number. He was later released on $55,000 bail.

Police say they received a tip Aug. 31 about a drug deal involving the 17-year-old girl. A search of her car revealed a loaded .38-caliber revolver, a hunting knife and a bag of marijuana.

The girl told police the items weren’t hers, and surveillance video showed a pickup and two male suspects near her car that morning.

A police spokesman says Harrison and the girl knew each other, but their exact relationship wasn’t clear.

Detectives continue to investigate the second suspect, but no arrest has been made.
