FORT WASHINGTON, Md. (AP) - The Prince George’s County Fair is opening at Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington.

The fair, which organizers say is the oldest running fair in Maryland, traces its roots to 1842. This year it starts Thursday evening and continues through Sunday. It includes a petting farm, pig races and music. There’s also a beautiful baby contest, 4-H exhibits and NASCAR simulator race cars.

Tickets to the fair are $6 for anyone 12 and over and $5 for anyone 6 to 11. Children 5 and under are free. The fair’s hours are 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
