SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah Gov. Gary Herbert is flying to Hong Kong on Sunday for a trade mission with Salt Lake City-based Zions Bank.

Herbert will join Zions Bank president and CEO Scott Anderson and World Trade Center Utah president and CEO Derek Miller on the Hong Kong leg of a trip through that city and Guangzhou, China. The governor returns to Utah on Sept. 18.

The trip will focus on tech companies, transportation and manufacturing.

Michael Sullivan, a spokesman for the governor’s economic development office, says the state of Utah is paying for Herbert’s travel and five other Utah employees. That will be about $21,000 in airfare and hotels.

Sullivan says the private companies and organizations are paying their own way on the trip.
