LAKE PROVIDENCE, La. (AP) - A driver from Lake Providence has died after losing control of her vehicle and striking two parked 18-wheelers in East Carroll Parish.

It happened shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday.

State police say the driver lost control of her Ford Expedition for unknown reasons as she headed west on Louisiana Highway 883-1. After running off the road, her vehicle traveled back across the roadway into a private lot and struck two parked 18-wheelers.

State police identified the victim as 43-year-old Tlesia (t-LESS-ih-ah) Peeler of Lake Providence. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
