ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque police say a woman has been arrested after allegedly driving drunk with her 10-year-old son in the passenger seat and making him blow into her interlock device to start the car.

KOB-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1KaFYq0 ) Cynthia Griego appeared in court Wednesday on DWI and child abuse charges.

Authorities say officers had gone to Griego’s home to conduct a welfare check when they saw Griego drive by with her son in the car.

Officers pulled the woman over and found that her license had been revoked.

The son allegedly told officers his mom made him blow into the vehicle’s interlock device to start the car.

Officers say Griego admitted to drinking and taking medication before she drove.

The boy is now under the care of a relative.
