FAIRVIEW, N.C. (AP) - Three people were hurt after a garage they were building collapsed in Buncombe County.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reported (https://avlne.ws/1KeNLYr) the Fairview Fire Department was called about 1:45 p.m. Thursday.

Fire Chief Scott Jones said the initial report was that four people had been trapped in the building. But Jones said everyone was outside by the time firefighters arrived.

Three people were taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered to be serious. Jones said the workers complained of neck and back pain.

He said the workers were putting up roof trusses when the collapse occurred. The cause of the collapse has not been determined.

The names of the injured have not been released.
