AUBURN, Ind. (AP) - A reward is being offered for information in the mutilation of a cat in northeastern Indiana.

The (Auburn) Star reported Thursday (https://bit.ly/1L4FRS2 ) the $500 reward was posted by an anonymous donor for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever’s responsible for the mutilation of the cat named Carrot.

Auburn police say someone sliced off part of Carrot’s tongue on Aug. 30.

Police say the severed portion of Carrot’s tongue was left on a window sill for cat owner Nicole Hart to find.

Hart says the cat is healing. She says Carrot has to drink kitten formula from a bottle and water from a syringe, and eat wet food.
