BAKER CITY, Ore. (AP) - A Baker City man has been accused of assaulting his mother by setting her hair on fire and squeezing her neck with a pair of tongs.

The Baker City Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1J1Rwey ) that the man was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder for his attack on the 63-year-old, wheelchair-bound woman.

The 37-year-old man is being held at the Baker County Jail.
