RAYTOWN, Mo. (AP) - Police say a man has been shot and killed in a parking lot in the Kansas City area.

The Kansas City Star (https://bit.ly/1iiDMqU ) reports that an officer in a nearby building reported the shooting Thursday night. Arriving patrol officers said they saw a light grey or silver car leaving the scene of the Raytown shooting.

Two patrol cars were damaged in a collision while responding to the call, but no injuries were reported.

The name of the man killed in the shooting wasn’t immediately released. Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
