PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - A Maine man is facing at least 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to taking sexually explicit pictures of an 8-year-old girl.

The Portland Press Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1KeOWXH ) that 28-year-old Wayne Niski, of South Portland, pleaded guilty Thursday in Portland federal court to sexually exploiting a minor.

U.S. Attorney Thomas Delahanty says investigators with the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit seized a USB flash drive from Niski’s home in March. On it were copies of images he had taken in 2013.

Niski could serve up to 30 years in federal prison, a $250,000 fine and supervised release for the rest of his life. He will be sentenced after a federal pre-sentencing investigation is completed.
