CLEVELAND (AP) - A man set to be released from prison next year likely will be staying behind bars after pleading guilty to three northeastern Ohio rapes from years ago.

Thirty-nine-year-old Joe Brown will be sentenced Oct. 19 after his guilty pleas in Cleveland Thursday. Prosecutors say he committed a sexual assault in 2003 and two more in 2008.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group (https://bit.ly/1OfYovQ ) reports Brown is the serial rapist who was known for approaching his victims on a bicycle.

Brown was previously sentenced to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty in 2011 to a felonious assault that took place in 2003. He was indicted on the new charges in March after a statewide DNA database returned hits to the three old rape kits.
