ST. LOUIS (AP) - St. Louis police say they are searching for the driver of a vehicle that fled after striking and killing a pedestrian on Interstate 70.

Police say the 48-year-old victim died at the scene of the crash about 9 p.m. Thursday on the freeway’s eastbound express lanes.

Authorities as of mid-morning Friday had not released his name.

Investigators say the victim was trying to cross the interstate when he was hit by the eastbound vehicle that then sped away.
