CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis teenager is accused of stealing body armor and other gear from an officer’s pickup truck outside the law enforcer’s home.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (https://bit.ly/1F1iTu2) that St. Louis County prosecutors have charged 17-year-old Jared Johnson of Kirkwood with felony stealing.

Authorities allege that Johnson and others last month stole a bullet-resistant vest with an attached flashlight and knife from the Brentwood police corporal’s vehicle in Glendale. Also taken were two 30-round magazines for an assault-style rifle, as well as five shotgun rounds.

Johnson’s bond was set at $10,000, though it was unclear Friday whether he was in custody.

The stolen gear remains missing.

Online court records do not show whether Johnson has an attorney.
