VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - It may not be The Last Picture Show, but the closure of a movie theater at a Vicksburg mall means the city is left without a full-time movie venue for the time being.

The Vicksburg Post reports (https://bit.ly/1M1n3BR ) that Wilcox Cinema 6 in Vicksburg Mall closed Thursday. Mall manager Mike Carlisle says the last show was a screening of “The Man from U.N.C.L.E” for a senior citizen’s group.

Carlisle says a new theater is coming to the mall but no date has been set and he declined to give details.

The theater opened in 2008, after the city went two years without a cinema.

Although Thursday’s closing leaves Vicksburg without a fulltime movie theater, the local Westside Theatre Foundation screens foreign and classic films at another theater on weekends.
