NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Highway Patrol has a new captain to oversee its Protection Services Division.

Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security Commissioner Bill Gibbons and Tennessee Highway Patrol Colonel Tracy Trott announced this week that Thomas Fyke will oversee the division, which provides security for the governor, first family, executive residence, other dignitaries and the entire Capitol complex.

The division is also responsible for the creation and implementation of executive security plans.

Fyke has served in executive protection services for the past 17 years, as a trooper and supervisor.
