A Portland, Oregon, artist is protesting Donald Trump’s comments against illegal immigration by painting a portrait of the GOP presidential front-runner with her own menstrual blood.
Artist Sarah Levy said she’s still looking for a buyer for the portrait, titled “Whatever,” The Huffington Post reported. “I still have more blood so thinking of doing a few more portraits until I run out.”
The title is a reference to an August interview with Mr. Trump on CNN, in which he appeared to suggest that Fox Host Megyn Kelly was on her period during the first GOP debate.
“You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes. Blood coming out of her wherever,” he said at the time.
“That he thinks he can bring up the healthy functioning of women’s reproductive systems to insult women’s intelligence is a big problem that I think needs to be called out,” Ms. Levy told BuzzFeed News.
The artist said Mr. Trump’s campaign kick-off speech remarks about Mexico and illegal immigrants also inspired her plan to donate the proceeds to an immigrants’ rights organization, The Post reported.
