CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - A southeastern Missouri woman is jailed after being accused of hitting an 18-year-old female on the head with a baseball bat.

The (Cape Girardeau) Southeast Missourian (https://bit.ly/1KQcJj4) reported that 59-year-old Larcene Robinson of Cape Girardeau is charged with second-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Police say the victim of the alleged attack Saturday afternoon was conscious and responsive when emergency responders arrived, though she complained of head pain and dizziness.

Authorities have not released a possible motive for the alleged assault.

The victim was taken to a hospital. Her medical status was not immediately clear Tuesday.

Online court records do not show whether Robinson has an attorney who can speak on her behalf.
