BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A transient has been accused of attempting to rob a couple with a sword in Bozeman.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports ( ) that the 21-year-old man is being held in Gallatin County jail on a felony charge of attempted robbery. He will appear in Gallatin County Justice Court on Tuesday.

Officials say a man told police that on Sunday the suspect approached him and tried to grab the man’s knife. When the man tried to stop the suspect, the suspect raised a sword. The man was cut on the forearm and the palm of his hand during the incident.

The suspect was found Monday lying near some trees near where the incident took place. There was a 26-inch-long silver sword next to him.
